A bold documentary that explores the sinister world of mail order brides.
Chrome travels to Thailand to meet some of the thousands of young, attractive girls who dream of escaping the poverty of their homeland and chasing a fantasy of an idillic life and love in the West. The film highlights how vastly different the reality of their new lives in the West can be, compared to what they were led to believe, and questions how we should view the mail order bride industry: not as a cringey, tragically humourous internet 'quirk', but as a very serious human rights issue.
